About My Work
I work principally in the field of socio-legal studies, focusing on discrimination, inequality, and, more recently through analysis of compassion and law, on suffering - broadly conceived. My research increasingly incorporates consideration of political economy. I am co-convenor of the Law, Politics and Ideology stream of the annual conferences of the Socio-Legal Studies Association, and Founder and Convenor of the Law and Compassion Research Network. One of my current areas of work is social class and law.
